Sam & Russel - Larkspur Lodge, Cheshire

I met Sam and Russell in August for their pre-wedding session, they were so lovely from the moment we met. One of Sam's closest friends is my sister-in-law so we have bumped into each other briefly before but it was so lovely to spend some time together chatting about their day and what they had planned.

When I arrived at Larkspur Lodge in Knutsford, Cheshire, it was so calm and relaxed. Just as Sam and Russell had wanted. As I was admiring the wedding cake and the cheese cake (cheese stacked in the shape of the cake - not the other cheese cake!) I asked the lady which business she was from only to be told she is the brides mum! I've never seen such a beautiful cheese cake set up before. Sam you're very lucky to have such a talented mum!!

I went up to the bridal prep room where Sam was getting ready. The fab team from Project9teen were already working their magic on the hair of the mother of the bride and mother of the groom. The lovely Naomi was working away on make up. The bubbles were flowing and it was so relaxed and calm. Lots of lovely flowers were delivered by Alison from Flowers by Alison Cheshire . Each table had large stunning candelabras that Alison finished of beautifully with flowers.

Sam was helped in to her dress (from Tilly Annas Bridalwear) by her lovely mum and mother in law. Shortly after I headed down stairs to capture Russell and the guests arriving. There was a buzz as everyone saw the venue. With the mood set with lights from Hipswing. Guests took their seats and the music from The Greatest Showman started to play by one of the guests. The tissues came out!

After the ceremony the rain started, everyone enjoyed cocktails while we took few group photos indoors. It was soon on to the speeches and toasts. It was so lovely to see how much Russell and Sam mean to each other, hearing stories in the speeches with their friends and family laughing and sheading a few tears along the way. We only had a couple of minutes for couples portraits outside before the rain started again and the darkness crept in. Luckily we didn't have to go far to find a nice spot at this lovely venue to make the most of the short time we had.

The evening started with the cake cutting and then on to a very touching father an daughter dance which brought a lump to my throat. The first dance was preformed by Beardsmith (the second wedding this year we have worked together at!) who continued to entertain the guests with live music for the rest of the evening.

Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness, congratulations Mr & Mrs Hughes xx
