Frequently asked questions...

I get asked a lot of questions when couples first message/email and I'm always happy to answers them. I want to put you at ease before booking. Here are just some of the most frequently asked...

What is full day coverage and how much do you charge?

Usually covering from prep to just after the first dance, which is roughly 8-10hours. You’ll receive your digital photos in an online password protected gallery to download and share with family and friends, with a USB package arriving shortly after. This is my most popular package for weddings compared to shorter day coverage, more info on that in the next question. My up to date pricing and more information for full day weddings are on my weddings page.

Do you offer half days?

I do offer shorter day packages. For a quote I'll need your venue, how many hours you'd like me for and an idea of what you'd like capturing to make sure it's realistic and we can get the most out of the hours you want covering.

Can we see your portfolio?

Yes of course! Just scroll down on my weddings page.

Other photographers offer albums with their packages, do you offer albums too?

Yes! I offer a full day and shorter day coverage packages both with the opportunity to add extras such as an album. I understand that most couples have a budget and not everyone wants an album, I'd much rather your opt in for one if you'd like it.

Have you photographed our venue before?

If I haven't worked at your venue before I will always try my best to visit before your day. This helps me know where I am going and also gives me great ideas on where I can get lovely photographs for you.

How many photos will we receive?

Full day weddings receive a minimum of 400 digital images. There is no limit that I stop at.

Are you insured?

YES! It's so important to have insurance. I have public liability, professional indemnity and other equipment insurance.

How long will we need for formal group photos?

I suggest no more than 15 group shots, these will take around 45minutes as long as everyone stays close by. I usually ask for help from a member or two from the bridal party to help gather together your family and friends needed for photos. This makes it so much quicker so you can enjoy the rest of your day. For couples portraits around 20minutes where we get to sneak off for some lovely photos, this is a great opportunity for you to just take a few moments before heading back to celebrate with your guests.

We hate having our photos taken?!

I dislike having my photo taken too! The thought fills me with dread so I totally understand. On the day I hope you don't even notice me until the group photos and then I go back to being hopefully unnoticed. During the couples photos I want you to just concentrate on your new husband or wife, it's rare I will ask you to look at me/the camera. You'll be too happy celebrating to notice me! I can also offer a pre-wedding session that you can add and take advantage of before the day if you'd like a bit of a practice.

What do we do if it rains?!

It's something for me to worry about so don't you worry, enjoy your day. I have shot a few weddings where it has absolutely chucked it down ALL DAY. But we had no major issues with photos. I have a clever little app that I look at and can see when it will stop, even if its for 5-10minutes we can get for couples photos outside. I carry two clear umbrellas in my car so they're at the ready. But we can take some inside too. Also isn't it good luck to rain on your wedding day?

How do we book?

I try my best to give enough time for you to get back to me from our first emails/messages but can't hold dates with out a non refundable booking fee and contract being filled in and signed. Once you're happy and would like to book, give me the ok to send over the contract, have a read through, once it is filled in, signed and a booking fee is received I'll send a confirmation email to say that you're all booked in! A few months before the day I'll be in touch to finalise timings and group shots. But if you need anything before then don't be afraid to send me an email. To avoid disappointment please book as soon as you can/are ready, I hate having to turn away couples due to not being available.

Do you need food?

Food is always appreciated as it's a very long day. I don't need a three course meal but caterers or venues usually offer a main suppliers meal which is always lovely to have. I can always bring a packed lunch but please let me before you day.

How long will it take to receive our gallery?

If I get the opportunity I will try to send some sneak peeks within 48 hours. For final galleries around 6 - 8weeks.

Suppliers would like photos from our day?

Not a problem! You don't need to worry just send them my way (if you're happy for them to have some). I'll send some watermarked images over for them and also if I get the opportunity to blog your wedding I'll include their details and send them a link to view highlights from your special day.

If you have any questions that I've not answered here please send me a message and I'll be more than happy to answer them!
